Just incase anyone needs to hear this today: 🙃
I’m terrible at sharing personal information about myself, but trying to be a bit more transparent in an effort to hopefully help someone out and give some encouragement! 🫶🏼
A couple of years ago I began having seemingly small unrelated problems with my own health. The nurse in me put things off for quite a while until finally I began feeling like a totally different person in relation to my physical health. Because they were all relatively small or infrequent I kept getting “bandaid” fixes from providers I would see. Important to note that all the providers I went to I still believe in their clinical skills, but it didn’t feel like anyone was looking at the WHOLE picture, but rather providing a quick fix to the symptom in the moment. These symptoms not only began to reappear, but they came back stronger and with new ones popping up more and more often.
Now I’m concerned, right?! I was grinding through the day trying to appear as if nothing was wrong so that I could crash from exhaustion when I finally arrived home in the evening. Something was definitely wrong.
SO MANY tests were done!! On the whole when tests were done I was not having symptoms in those moments. Tests came back normal. Very frustrating. Symptoms returned. …. And around and around we went. 🤦🏼♀️
For the sake of shortening the post I had to really become my own advocate and start “barking” until someone finally listened. I researched a lot on my own and started making suggestions to the physicians. I found a great primary care doctor (thanks to my wonderful husband!). He in turn referred me to a few specialist and now I have an EXCELLENT team working together and we are figuring some stuff out! 💕
🤍You know your body. Don’t stop seeking an answer because you feel as if you are being dismissed, made to feel as if “it’s not that big of a concern”, your too young for serious issues, or even that you are making things up.
Be persistent! It is your health!
SOOOOO…. Meet “Hazel the heart ♥️ monitor”! LOL
She will be apart of me for the next month. If you see her attached to me now you know why. 😜 (I named her because if you’re gonna spend that much time attached to something it becomes a little personal!)
…the eye roll pic is because this is round 2 with a heart monitor BUT we are making progress and that is WONDERFUL news! 🤩
