Tejano & Christian Music Community Mourns the Passing of Legendary Producer Manny Guerra
The Tejano and Christian music world is mourning the loss of one of its most influential pioneers. Manny Guerra; acclaimed songwriter, producer, engineer, and singer, passed away today, as confirmed by his brother, the legendary Rudy Guerra.
Manny Guerra’s impact on music spans decades and generations. As the founder of Amen Recording Studios in San Antonio, he became a driving force behind the development of the modern Tejano sound. His early work with Selena y Los Dinos played a pivotal role in shaping the foundation of what would become the most iconic career in Tejano music history.
In addition to Selena, Guerra worked with and produced music for some of the industry’s most respected artists, including Jay Perez, Sunny Ozuna, Culturas, Augustine Ramírez, Abraham Quintanilla Jr., and many others. His vision, engineering, and production helped define an era and left an indelible mark on both Tejano and Christian music.
The Guerra family, along with countless fans, artists, and ministries who were touched by Manny’s talent and generosity, are grieving this tremendous loss.
Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with Rudy Guerra and the entire Guerra family during this difficult time.
Manny Guerra’s legacy will continue to live on through the music he created, the artists he inspired, and the generations he helped shape.
