Ok.. need a Monday funny? Personally I'd rather look like the bacon but..I get the point! 🤣

On a more (sort of) serious note; just a couple of tips to remember as we all start heading out for summer fun:

-It is recommended to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours when you are in the sun.
- For sunscreens that are water resistant, make sure you reapply every 80 minutes when you are playing in the water. Simply pat your skin dry to remove water, then reapply.
- (only for the singles) Be efficient: Get a date and your sunscreen applied in one step: ask a cute beach goer to apply it on your back for you, then ask for their number so you can contact them to help you reapply! 😝☀️

I've gotta hear if the last one works for anyone! 🤣

Missed my live yesterday, needed a mental health day, but not giving up on June!! We've had a couple of rough days and I just couldn't make myself hop on yesterday and I'm not sure how Jace would've done... Did you know..? Get ready for some scientific, nerdy info! But it's SO IMPORTANT! Take just a minute to read. ❤️Your skin will thank you❤️

Chemical SPF absorbs into the skin, whereas mineral SPF acts as a physical shield, not allowing harmful rays to pe*****te the skin.

*Your skin automatically absorbs chemical sunscreen formulas and in return, then absorbs harmful UV rays, converting them into heat. In the end, these chemicals and heat are released from our bodies and can go into our oceans.

*Oxybenzone and octinoxate, two common sunscreen ingredients, were recently banned in Key West and Hawaii due to their toxic effects on marine ecosystems.

*Homosalate - The European Commission reported that homosalate has a recommended maximum concentration of 1.4 percent, because of concerns for potential hormone disruption. The FDA allows U.S. sunscreen manufacturers to use it in concentrations up to 15 percent.

*Octisalate - Readily absorbs through the skin at levels 10 times the FDA’s cutoff for systemic exposure. Has the potential to cause contact dermatitis.

*Oxybenzone, Octinoxate, Homosalate, and Avobezone have shown endocrine disrupting potential in animal studies. Human studies have not yet been conducted extensively and over a long enough period of time for conclusive results on humans.

*Non Nano Zinc is considered safe across the board! It does not absorb into our bodies, nor does it allow harmful rays to pe*****te. It also does not harm our oceans.

*Up until recently it has been a challenge to get a good mineral SPF formula that isn't extremely thick or leave a white residue, but we've got something extremely special coming soon!

Did you know that because photodamage happens in the deepest layers of the skin—the dermis—it can take years before the damage surfaces and becomes visible? How do you want to look in ten years?

I'm sure you've seen this photo floating around somewhere before. If not, let me tell you a little bit about him...He's 69 in this picture and had been a truck driver for 28 years...that's 28 years the left side of his face got sun exposure and the right side didn't. His left side has what's called dermatoheliosis; a gradual thickening of the skin due to sun exposure.
