This week on 3 Essential Questions, Erika and I highlight a New Mexico business rooted in beauty, culture, and intention.

In our latest episode, Wacinque Amistad Kaizen discussed his innovative approach to financial empowerment. His company teaches individuals to invest in dividend-paying stocks, creating permanent financial assets that grow over time. With the help of "seed money" from donors, participants can jumpstart their investments and build generational wealth. This method ensures that the principal amount is passed down, providing a stronger financial foundation for future generations.

FYI, Did you know that schools once had actual bank branches on campus? These in-school banks enabled students to conduct real financial transactions as part of their curriculum. Unfortunately, this hands-on approach to financial education was discontinued, but it is an innovative way to teach financial literacy to future generations.

BEYOND PROFIT ANNUAL CELEBRATION 2025
Inspiring Galleries, Bright Ideas + Unexpected Delights
Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Beyond Profit Annual Celebration. The evening was filled with warmth, creativity, and community as we explored the inspiring spaces at the Zane Bennett and Form & Concept galleries.

Everywhere you looked, something meaningful was happening — conversations unfolding, ideas sparking in real time. The galleries were alive with people engaging with art, sipping Green Chile Piñon Hot Chocolate (some with a dash of tequila) from High Mountain Cuisine, and connecting with the courageous entrepreneurs working to shape New Mexico’s economic future.
Throughout the evening, accelerator founders shared their prototypes and stories, inviting the community into their process, their purpose, and their vision. The community met them with sincere curiosity — asking thoughtful questions, offering encouragement, and engaging with an openness that elevated every interaction. Moments of insight and genuine connection rippled through the room, reminding us why this community-building work matters.

Kudos to all the courageous entrepreneurs in the UNM Anderson CRE Accelerator program — and to the mentors, coaches, and emotional support teams, both official and unofficial, who walk alongside them. Your guidance, heart, and steady presence help these founders grow with clarity and courage.

2025 Beyond Profit Annual Celebration is co-presented by Creative Santa Fe and UNM Anderson Center For Responsible Entrepreneurship. With additional support from our venue host Zane Bennett / Form & Concept and community partners New Mexico School for the Arts and High Mountain Cuisine, and Santa Fe Audio and Visual.

Each Beyond Profit session is free with a suggested donation of $25 per attendee. Proceeds support UNM Anderson Center for Responsible Entrepreneurship and Creative Santa Fe. Beyond Profit series is sponsored by City Of Santa Fe Office Of Economic Development.
