This year is the 50th anniversary of the movie “Rocky,” the greatest underdog film of all time! Little known fact: Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay (and was later nominated for an Academy Award for it). The big movie companies wanted to buy the rights to the film and cast a bigger-named star as Rocky instead of the then-unknown actor. Stallone stuck to his guns and insisted on starring as what became one of the biggest names in the history of cinema. The rest as they say is history!
