“Every industry needs a villian. Looks like I’m it.”
Say hello to the bad guy.
I’ve played nice.
I’ve played safe.
And I’ve watched the beauty industry reward silence while girls who look like me consistently get overlooked.
That ends now.
My reviews and takes were never fake — but yeah, they were safe.
Because when you’re a dark-skinned woman in beauty, you learn real quick that this game wasn’t built for you.
In a world full of beige and nudes, matcha lattes, and 9AM Pilates, we lost the depth.
We lost the creativity.
We lost the girls who stand out because of their individuality — not their boring “clean girl” aesthetic.
We’ve been molded to fit into influencer boxes that were never made for us.
But baby, in order to see real change, you gotta be willing to break the machine.
To stand out. To say what nobody will.
I’m not here for the validation.
I’m here for the women who look like me.. the ones who deserve to be seen, heard, and represented in a space that constantly tells us we’re too much, too loud, too Black, too real.
This isn’t about money.
It’s about letting every dark-skinned girl know that she deserves the mic, too.
And if I gotta break the system, stir the pot, and make people uncomfortable to make that happen?
Then bitch, I’ll be the villain.
Welcome to the dark side. 💋
