One of the Founding Members of The Swingin’ Conner Family passed away Yesterday😔 Growing up in my family was an extraordinary experience, largely shaped by our parents, Otis and Helen, who were not only our guardians but also our greatest sources of inspiration and encouragement. They instilled in us the values of unity, creativity, and perseverance, which became the cornerstones of our journey.
We spent our teenage years touring the country, playing in a band that graced stages from coast to coast. We performed at state fairs, in Vegas, and even at the New York World's Fair. Our resume included sharing the stage with legendary acts like The Beach Boys, the Smothers Brothers, and countless other talented artists.
But we weren't just a family of four brothers and a sister; we were the closest of friends. We did everything together, and though we had our occasional disagreements, no one could pick a fight with just one of us. We had each other's backs. This incredible journey unfolded from the early '50s to the late '70s, and our sibling bond remained as strong as ever.
One of the highlights of our journey was when we had the incredible opportunity to appear on the Ted Mack Original Amateur Hour on NBC. It wasn't just a moment when we showcased our talents as a cute family act; it was a time when we shared our passion and unity with a national audience, a dream that our parents helped us realize.
However, yesterday, we were dealt an unexpected blow. We lost a shining star of The Swingin' Conner Family, my brother Larry. The news has left us all in a state of shock. I spoke to him almost every day, and he even worked for me during the early days of my music and film production business. I had the privilege of producing advertising for his thriving business, and my love for him ran deep.
All of my siblings, including Becky and Allan, as well as Larry's wife Jessica, daughter Anjel, and granddaughter Savannah, will carry Larry's smiling face and enduring personality in their hearts every single day. We all loved Larry dearly, and his memory will forever hold a special place in our family's collective heart, a testament to the love and inspiration passed down by our parents, Otis and Helen.
Larry…your star does indeed shine bright ! It always did❤️🎶🎵
