Perhaps everything happening to Inday Sara Duterte today is part of the painful price of the political choices she made—including joining Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in the 2022 UniTeam alliance.
For a time, that alliance represented political unity. But the partnership eventually fractured, and by 2024, Sara had left the Cabinet.
Then came the hardest chapter: watching her father, Rodrigo Duterte, taken to The Hague. Whatever one’s politics, that is a deeply personal burden for any daughter.
The political battles continued.
In 2025, the Supreme Court declared the impeachment articles against Sara unconstitutional, citing the constitutional one-year rule and due-process concerns.
In 2026, another impeachment battle moved forward. And now, on September 4, a Quezon City court issued a warrant of arrest against her in the grave-threats case.
