A concerned neighborhood is looking to create an enhanced neighborhood patrol program so Elm Thicket/Northpark can have extra police patrols. If you would like more information on the program please scan the QR code.

Hey Elm Thicket/Northpark neighbors - On Saturday, Sept. 20 from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Northpark Missionary Baptist Church - there will be a FREE informational workshop for seniors who are on Medicare. A specialist will be there to answer all questions and explain the many changes in services and coverage concerning Medicare. Please share this information with any senior family members or neighbors who could benefit from this information.

Mark your calendars Ellum Thicket for the K. B. Polk Recreation Center's Halloween Celebration on Friday, Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Last year's Frightfest was one for the record books. This year will be even better. If you'd like to volunteer or donate candy or other items for prizes please reach out to the K. B. Polk Recreation Center at 214-670-6308. All donations are tax-deductible. There will be games, food, music, etc. Our rec center staff is working hard to make this a great event for our neighborhood children.

On Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 Morton Street will be closed starting at 8 am so the city can resurface the street. The city is asking that there be no street parking starting at 8 am on Friday. Other streets in Elm Thicket may also be resurfaced on the same day so please be aware of any door hangers or spray painted messages on the street. If you have received a notice and you live on a different street please leave your street in the comments so we can get the information out to neighbors. Please share this with family and friends.

Please mark your calendars for this coming Thursday. There will be a budget town hall meeting hosted by D2 Mayor Pro Tem Jesse Moreno and D6 Councilwoman Laura Cadena on Thursday, Aug. 28 at 6 pm at the K. B. Polk Recreation Center, 6801 Roper Street. The Elm Thicket/Northpark neighborhood is divided between D2 and D6. The city is making cuts so please plan on attending and making your voice heard and ensure our neighborhood is protected.
