The April issue of the ETNP News has dropped. It's late but it's good.

On the day we intended to publish, April 1, we learned about the proposed rezoning of Garvin Memorial Cemetery and damage to headstones there.

For those readers who are new to the neighborhood, Garvin Memorial Cemetery is the final resting place for Freedmen who lived and contributed to the creation of the place you've chosen to call home, Elm Thicket/Northpark.

We interviewed the developer and did a deep dive into the paperwork so we can all know what is happening with the final resting place of those Freedmen. We will continue to follow this story because of its significance to our neighborhood.

Some of our Elm Thicket/Northpark churches are conducting a hygiene drive to bless the unhoused and those in need. If you would like to contribute to this worthy cause please see the flyer below for more details. The deadline to contribute is April 10.

The alleged package thief/mail thief has struck again in Ellum Thicket. As we reported in the February issue of the ETNP News, an individual was seen getting out of his white mustang convertible with a black rag top and walking up to a doorstep to grab a package. On Wednesday, a neighbor posted a video on Nextdoor showing a similar individual getting out of the same type of car to allegedly steal mail out of the box. If you see this car please report it to the police and tell them it's been involved in some alleged thefts in our neighborhood. The most recent video is below.
