ANTHRAX RETURNS WITH NEW ALBUM AND TOUR

The classic metal group ANTHRAX is back with new material, from their upcoming studio album "CURSUM PERFICIO" which drops via MEGAFORCE RECORDS on September 18, 2026. The group has already released a single and music video for "IT'S FOR THE KIDS" from the upcoming project. ANTHRAX returns with band veterans JOEY BELLADONA on vocals, SCOTT IAN and JONATHAN DONAIS on guitar, FRANK BELLO on bass, and CHARLIE BENANTE on drums.

“A friend of mine said, ‘It’s For The Kids’ is a straight-up love letter to your fans,'” SCOTT IAN said. “That’s exactly what I wanted it to be. The album needed a four-minute thrash song that harkened back to our first era. Whether it’s the aggression or the big chorus, it represents all the best parts of Anthrax in a very angry four-minute package. For the video, we wanted to throw back to our ‘Madhouse’ video–thematically it just made sense and this idea opened the door for us to share the experience with our fans. For all of us!”

ANTHRAX's new single "IT'S FOR THE KIDS" is their first studio track from the band in a decade, and currently spinning on D-Rock Radio. KISS BACK IN STUDIO AGAIN FOR NEW PROJECT

Despite retiring from touring in 2023, the legendary hard rock & metal group KISS are recording new music, with GENE SIMMONS confirming a new song written by PAUL STANLEY, is complete and more material is on the way. The new studio material is expected to be featured in their upcoming 4D avatar-based live show launching in Las Vegas in 2028.

The last album to be released by KISS was back in 2012 with "MONSTER" and is first studio project since the death of original bandmate ACE FREHLEY, who passed last October. SIMMONS teased there was more material but not officially if a new album was in the works, or just a few singles.

The 2026 edition of "KISS Kruise: Landlocked In Vegas" will be held November 13-15 at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas. This time, the event will introduce an expanded and immersive KISSperience featuring artist panels and Q&As, a look-alike contest, KISS karaoke, "Ask Doc" sessions with longtime KISS manager Doc McGhee, artist meet-and-greets and late-night DJs. The event will also include interactive exhibits, a merch store and a "Future Of KISS" panel.

DEEP PURPLE ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM RELEASE THIS SUMMER

One of the innovators of hard rock and metal DEEP PURPLE, have announced their new studio album "SPLAT!" to be released on July 3rd on earMUSIC.

With more than 120 million albums sold since forming in 1968, DEEP PURPLE have long secured their place in rock history. Rather than simply preserving their legacy, they continue to extend it, driven by the same spirit that defined their earliest work.

Frontman IAN GILLAN stated "Where we are now with this incarnation of Deep Purple feels very much like a very ‘now’ version of Deep Purple as it was in the seventies.”

Once again, the band has teamed up with renowned producer BOB EZRIN. Together, they have crafted an album that draws on the sound and attitude that has always set DEEP PURPLE apart from the rest. "SPLAT!" is the heaviest DEEP PURPLE album in many years, with the band playing together in the studio – the way Deep Purple have always recorded.

IAN GILLAN said “I have to say, now we are very much back in with material that is compatible with ‘Highway Star’, ‘Smoke on the Water’, ‘Lazy’ – the dynamics, the balance, and the fun of the music we made from ‘69 to ‘73.”

At the heart of "SPLAT!" is an idea conceived by IAN GILLAN. Rather than treating the end as destruction, the album imagines it as transformation: "SPLAT!" explores the end of humanity not in any crude apocalyptic sense but as a metamorphosis beyond physical existence. To celebrate the release, Deep Purple will continue their extensive 2026 touring schedule with no fewer than 86 shows across 28 countries on three continents.

ROCKLAHOMA 2026 MUSIC FESTIVAL LINE-UP ANNOUNCED!

Celebrating its 20th anniversary ROCKLAHOMA, the three-day rock music festival returns to the Rockin’ Red Dirt Ranch in Pryor, Oklahoma, over Labor Day weekend, September 4–6th, 2026, with a powerhouse trio of headliners featuring: GODSMACK, SLAYER, and PAPA ROACH.

The weekend officially kicks off Friday, Sept. 4, with Godsmack closing out a stacked opening night. That day’s lineup also features Stone Temple Pilots, Hollywood Undead, Jet, Yelawolf, Slaughter, Black Stone Cherry, Crossfade, Buckcherry, Dexter and the Moonrocks, Tim Montana, High June, The Normandys and Lylvc. Frontman Sully Erna shared his excitement, saying, “Oklahoma! We can’t wait to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Rocklahoma with all of you on Friday, September 4 with a full lineup of pure ROCK!”

Saturday, Sept. 5, will be headlined by Papa Roach, who return to the festival for the first time since 2015. They be joined by Cypress Hill, Dropkick Murphys, Pennywise, Black Veil Brides, Wolfmother, Living Colour, Molly Hatchet, Militarie Gun, Teen Mortgage, Autumn Kings, Cowboy Angels, Eternal Frequency, Waves in April, Fire Tiger and School of Rock. Reflecting on their return, Papa Roach vocalist Jacoby Shaddix said, “The guys and I are beyond excited to return to Rocklahoma 2026 alongside such a killer lineup. It will be our first time since 2015 — over a decade! So make sure to grab your tickets fast!”

The festival wraps up Sunday, Sept. 6, with Slayer marking four decades of their landmark album Reign in Blood. Billed as a “40 years of Reign in Blood” celebration, the set will spotlight the thrash legends’ enduring legacy. Also performing that day are Black Label Society, The Pretty Reckless, Insane Clown Posse, Suicidal Tendencies, President, Ugly Kid Joe, Barbarians of California, Ill Niño, Cyco Miko, Big Ass Truck, The Violent Hour, High Water Gamble and Seven Foot Monkey.

The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen summed up the spirit of the weekend, declaring, “Rocklahoma isn’t just another festival; it’s for the loud, the misfits, and the lifers. There’s something about stepping on that stage, feeling that heat, that roar, and knowing these fans live and breathe rock ‘n’ roll the same way we do.”

ARMORED SAINT IS BACK WITH NEW RELEASE!

Another group who falls into the category as royalty of "the Legends of Rock" is ARMORED SAINT, who is back with a new release for 2026. ARMORED SAINT releases their ninth studio album "EMOTION FACTORY RESET" on May 22nd, with the first single "CLOSE TO THE BONE" already spinning on D-Rock Radio.

“The first track on the record sounds like vintage ARMORED SAINT" said lead singer JOHN BUSH, "Yet vintage that comes out in 2026! How did we do that? The title of the record, Emotion Factory Reset appears as the first line of the bridge. Killer riffs, awesome rhythms and attacking vocals gets this train rolling. The title implies the human response to withdraw and keep things to yourself instead of being confrontational; Something I believe we all struggle with as humans. Do you just say, ‘aww, whatever man,’ or do you say, ‘hey, f**k you!’ Depends on the moment I guess.”

Bush, one of music’s most respected vocalists, operates from a place of passion and presence in the studio and on stage. In fact, about 85% of his vocals from the last three ARMORED SAINT records are taken from the demo sessions, capturing the raw power. While Vera is a granular and detailed writer, like Bush, the bassist says, “I try not to overthink and be right where I’m at that time. I really don’t look over my shoulder much, like, ‘what did I do in the past? What’s going on in the next lane?’ Once the ball starts rolling, I just sit back and let it happen.”
