Last year, The Oak Cliff Documentary interns, Elijah Sala & Ryan Deitch caught up with Oak Cliff native, father, educator, and business owner, Elijah Salazar.

Salazar owns one of our favorite Oak Cliff businesses, Peaberry Coffee Shop () in the heart of Central Oak Cliff’s Kiestwood Village. In this interview, he talks about the history of the coffee shop, his love for the community, and all things coffee.

Update: I’ve Been Waiting is a three part docuseries exploring the historical relationship between the Black community and healthcare, medical racism, and how Black women have particularly been affected by this relationship. The series brings together a cast of Black women, a Black midwife, a Black Doula to have a candid conversation about the intersections of medical racism and their personal experiences. I’ve Been Waiting will also explore how Black healthcare professionals and others are addressing these concerns through grassroots initiatives. (Coming 2022)
