How do Economic Developers help site selectors and developers see the same vision they see for their community? They reveal what available land could become, and they show just enough strategic location and opportunity details to make prospects want to pick up the phone.

Tony Kaai and Tiffany Barney-Harolds of Denison Development Alliance were very methodical in drawing the right vision for their available land. They understand one thing is not being created more of, and that is land.

If you are an Economic Developer, you may feel like you have to reinvent your community’s story to make people see it differently. In reality, top Economic Developers like Leah Clark from Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation understand that reinventing yourself is not always necessary, because the current version of your community is often exactly what prospects need to see.

The story may not need to change, but the way you portray it does. You have to show a visual version of your community that helps people feel what you feel and interpret your community the way you want them to experience it.

Creating a visual masterpiece with smooth movement, creative editing, and a clear feeling, even without data points, can persuade prospective businesses to see your community as the next place they should move.

Every Economic Developer has a community with something unique, but if you do not create short marketing pieces that highlight it, prospects will never know you stand out. Leah Clark of Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation proved this by identifying 15 to 20 unique things that make Bridgeport different.

With a little help from us and creative motion graphics that brought their story to life, they created dozens of chances to retell their message. That repetition reminds prospects, when decision time hits, Bridgeport, Texas, should be at the top of the list.

How can Economic Developers get more attention with video marketing without creating more content? Leah Clark of Bridgeport Economic Development Corporation shows that repeating the same message is not being repetitive; it is being smart.

She keeps reminding prospects that the City of Bridgeport, TX is not only a place to grow a company, it is a great place to live and raise a family. Her videos reinforce parks, walking trails, kayaking, lakes, mountain bike trails, museums, off-roading Jeep trails, downtown restaurants, hotels, and a lot of annual events. She is not worried if someone has seen the video before; she is focused on the people who have not, and she stays consistent so every prospect hears the same clear story.

As an Economic Developer, what is your strategy to do the same thing she is doing?

Building a vision from a 30,000-foot view is what Economic Developers are born to do, but what is the right way to do it? After years of studying how to help Economic Developers, and help prospects and future businesses see what is too large to understand from a normal drone view, we created something called a 3D Animated Map Scene.

This shot for Big Sky Economic Development is not only about showing an airport and its cargo abilities, education, and major airliners. It also helps viewers understand proximity to the city, proximity to Interstate 90, housing, and so much more, because sometimes you need to get higher and look down from what we call the God’s view to show the full vision. Economic Developers dream big, solve unique problems, and need unique tools to tell that story.

Neon Cloud Productions created 3D Animated Map Scenes to help Economic Developers do exactly that. What new ways and ideas have you come up with to market your airports, universities, entire cities, or future loops in a way others are not doing yet?

Site selectors, developers, and investors all share one thing: their time is valuable, so Economic Developers must communicate fast and clearly. That is why the best marketing videos get straight to the point and show the exact information and data decision makers need to believe your community is the one they should invest in.

Griselle Chazu of the City of Boynton Beach, Government did this by telling a complete story in a short window, strategic location, major assets and available land, key sectors, recent investments, and lifestyle shots. She also made it clear they are focused on mixed-use luxury units and that education matters, not only for current students, but for the future businesses they want to attract. Compacting all of that into one minute is not easy, but it is necessary when people have little time and big decisions to make.
