So I usually keep my feelings and thoughts out of the things I post... in most cases. In today's newsletter, I've got some grievances to address.

I'm no longer saying yes to *every single* unpaid opportunity I'm offered or unpaid labor in exchange for promotion and other things when it comes to my creative services and larger scale writing.

I'm upset about it. I'm disappointed about it. Here's what I think.

Pay people what they're worth if you value their work and time.

Twenty-five years after JD Miller started building oil paint up off the canvas, the movement he founded gets its first exhibition with all nine artists present. The Inaugural Reflectionist Exhibition at the Samuel Lynne Galleries flagship in the Design District and runs through October 10.

Forest Theater in South Dallas, for the first time in 50 years, will have its tower lit once again during a celebration event on November 1.

The historic theater has had it's share of famous performances and revamps.

Just this past August, there was an unveiling for For The Culture, a public permanent art installation by artist Jessica Bell at the theater's outdoor Constantin Corner.
