Rebecca Lockridge Named Director of Public Relations for WISD
The Waxahachie ISD Board of Trustees named Rebecca (Becca) Lockridge the Director of Public Relations for WISD at their regular meeting on July 14, 2025.
Becca Lockridge has served as WISD’s Community Outreach Coordinator since 2024. Prior to her current role, Becca was the Area Community Coordinator for H-E-B Waxahachie. For many years, she has ensured a strong and positive connection to the Waxahachie community. When working with non-profit organizations, businesses, community members, and parents, Lockridge has made it her goal to establish creative and meaningful connections. She has a true passion for serving others and believes that forming lasting relationships between communities and schools has exponential benefits for everyone involved. She is proud to serve on the Boards for the United Way of West Ellis County, Waxahachie Chamber of Commerce, Chautauqua Preservation Society, and Ellis County Museum.
Mrs. Lockridge is a 2000 Graduate of Waxahachie High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin University in 2006. She has received several local recognitions including Ellis County’s Top 40 Under 40, Waxahachie H-E-B’s Woman of Distinction, and the Christian Women’s Job Corps Rose Award.
WISD Superintendent Becky McCutchen said, “Mrs. Lockridge brings a wealth of experience in community engagement and has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to serving both the school district and the local community. Her creativity, strategic vision, and deep understanding of public relations will play a vital role in advancing the district’s communication efforts. We are excited to welcome Mrs. Lockridge into this role and look forward to the positive impact of her leadership.”
Mrs. Lockridge shared, “I am truly honored to step into the role as the Director of Public Relations for Waxahachie ISD. I believe that public schools are the heart of communities, and am excited to help share the stories, successes, and voices of our students, staff, and families. It is a privilege to be able to support the important work that is happening in the very classrooms and campuses that I attended years ago, and my children currently attend. I look forward to continuing to foster strong, transparent, and positive connections across the district and our community for years to come.”
Becca and her husband, Bill, have four children, Marissa, Adeline, Eleanor, and Everett, who are all WISD students.
