We stopped at the goodwill bins today and somehow ended up snagging this 1960s aluminum Christmas tree! They rolled out some bins with Christmas stuff in them. An older lady spotted it before I did so I helped her grab all the branches and told her that is was a really cool find! A little later when we were checking out I saw her putting it back! She said it was missing one of the poles the base, and the topper. But I wanted it regardless! We brought it home and put it together! Turns out it had everything! It’s missing a couple branches but it looks great regardless!

Today I found out there’s been a Lenox spice village sitting in the attic of my childhood home since the 90’s!
My mom had no idea this is one of my thrifting holy grails. She said it’s mine now!🥹

Found this gorgeous piece at the Goodwill today for only $1.99. 😳
This beautiful window is a replica of "Mermaid with Goldfish" by Louis Comfort Tiffany. The original was one of Louis C Tiffany’s favorites and he kept it for his own collection. While Tiffany had refused to sell it, when he died the Field Museum acquired it. Done in an art nouveau style with cool blues and greens.
**Mine has the initials “FMNH” on the bottom left standing for Field Museum of Natural History.

I've been gawking over everyone's ceramic tree finds. I've always wanted one but figured my chances were slim being in a rural area. Today I spotted her in a box on the bottom shelf at my local thrift store for $2.75! The base is cracked and bulb was burnt out. New bulb works! I'm just gonna sit here in the dark and cry. I can't believe I really have one!!

Went to a local antique store a few years ago, and found my newel post lamp. The one for my house was missing, and when we stumbled upon this one at the antique store, I knew I wanted it. When we got it home, it fit perfectly, as if it was there before. It did come from a local antique store, so I suppose that would be possible. The house itself was built in the 1880s and was in rough shape when I moved in. The picture is of the staircase with the newel post lamp re-installed.

We are doing a 70’s themed basement and I’ve been searching for a perfect couch for months. I found a “placeholder” for a while and had sort of given up on finding a great one I could afford. The term champagne taste on a beer budget is an accurate description of my life (and why I love thrifting).
Imagine my delight when I popped into goodwill for a quick look and this beauty was sitting right in the front. Angels sang. A soft breeze blew my hair. A pair of women in their 80’s remarked just how ugly it was as I stood with a single tear rolling down my cheek 🤣
$80 later I grabbed that bad boy immediately. And then went back for the matching chairs.
Moral of the story: always go to the thrift store ✨
