Entertainment auction history continues to be rewritten by Heritage Auctions, as its July 15-18 Entertainment blockbuster — which kicked off Tuesday with the legacy of Cecil B. DeMille and wrapped up Friday with the likes of Kevin McAllister’s knitted Home Alone hat — totaled $24.96 million, topped by the $14.75 million sale of Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane sled known as Rosebud, consigned by Gremlins director Joe Dante.

Heritage now holds the records for the top six Entertainment memorabilia auction totals, including last December’s showstopping event that resulted in $38,615 million and was led by the $32.5 million result for Dorothy’s ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz — the most valuable piece of entertainment memorabilia ever sold.

Other highlights include the granite Ten Commandments tablets commissioned by DeMille for his 1956 epic at $325,000, Robert Peak’s “Apocalypse Now” painting for $687,500, a screen-used “I Dream of Jeannie” genie bottle that sold for $400,000, Harrison Ford’s “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” screen-matched signature bullwhip, which had been presented to HRH Prince Charles at the 1989 Royal Premiere for $525,000, and Kurt Russell’s “Wyatt Earp” photo-matched and inscribed C**t Buntline Special single-action revolver from “Tombstone” drew an exceptional $525,000, among many other incredible items.

Sold: $525,000

Kurt Russell’s Hero Photo Matched Signature “Wyatt Earp” C**t .45 Buntline Special from Tombstone.
Tombstone (Cinergi, 1993), Kurt Russell “Wyatt Earp” Hero Photo-Matched Inscribed C**t Buntline Special Single Action Revolver. This is the iconic hero live-fire C**t Buntline Special revolver used by Kurt Russell in the movie Tombstone (1993). Serial no. SA7202 [frame], .45 caliber, 10-inch barrel with fixed front blade sight and frame-notch rear sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened frame and hammer. Top of barrel marked: C**T’S PT. F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD, CT. U.S.A. Left side of barrel roll-stamped: C**T BUNTLINE SPECIAL .45. Two-line, two-date patent to left side of frame. CAT. 5565 stamped just below barrel, in the front of the frame. Smooth walnut one-piece grip. Inscribed brass badge to right panel reads: TO / WYATT / EARP / PEACEMAKER / FROM THE GRATEFUL / PEOPLE OF DODGE CITY / APR. 1878 8TH. This is one of only three hero Wyatt Earp C**t .45 Buntline Specials used in Tombstone; reportedly Kurt Russell kept one, and director George Cosmatos (now deceased) kept the other. The unique swirled color patterns of the color case hardening on the revolver photo-matches an image of Russell taken on the set of the film. The owner acquired this revolver 15 years ago from a member of the film production and it has never been on public display or placed at auction.

Sold: $400,000

Barbara Eden “Jeannie” Ornate Screen Used Prop Genie Bottle. Vintage original genie bottle prop used during production of the iconic NBC sitcom. Repurposed from a 1964 Jim Beam “Beam’s Choice” Christmas edition glass whiskey decanter, the piece was studio-painted in shimmering purple with orange, green, and gold-toned highlights in a Middle Eastern-inspired design. It includes the original painted, flared-glass removable stopper. Jeannie’s (Barbara Eden) bottle is among the most instantly recognizable props in television history, introduced in the show’s pilot and carried throughout the series. The bottle’s paint scheme changed after the show’s black-and-white first season and remained consistent through seasons 2-5. At the series’ end, special effects specialist Richard Albain gifted this specific bottle to Joseph Goodson, associate producer on 26 episodes of the fifth and final season. In 2025, Goodson reunited with star Barbara Eden, who signed the bottle in silver and black felt-tip ink on both the side and bottom: “Barbara Eden / ‘Jeannie’”. Measuring approx. 14” x 5”, the bottle is housed in a 16.5” x 10” custom-made, hard transport case wrapped in brown leather with black faux-leather handles, gold-toned hardware, and red fabric interior. Notably, the case was previously owned by Barbara Eden and used to carry her personal “Jeannie” bottle-donated to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History in 2022. This lot includes letters of authenticity and provenance from both Barbara Eden and Joseph Goodson. The bottle displays expected signs of production use and age, including light scuffing on the base (with smudging), light surface scuffs, residue on base, and minor paint chipping. From the collection of I Dream of Jeannie associate producer Joseph Goodson.
