Jeena and I are deeply saddened by the loss of Army Pvt. Isabella Gonzales of Carrollton, who gave her life while serving our nation in Jordan. A 2025 Hebron High School graduate, Isabella was just 19 years old, yet she answered the call to serve with remarkable courage, honor, and selflessness.

We are also praying for the family of 1st Lt. Tyler James Feehan of Hawaii, who likewise made the ultimate sacrifice. Their sacrifice is a solemn reminder that the freedoms we enjoy are preserved by brave men and women who willingly put themselves in harm's way to protect others.

Scripture reminds us, "Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends." (John 15:13)

Please join us in praying that God will comfort their families, strengthen their fellow service members, and grant peace to all who mourn. May we never forget the sacrifice of these American heroes, and may we strive to live in a way that honors their legacy.

God bless their families, God bless our military, God bless Texas, and God bless the United States of America.

Romans 1:1 — "Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God."

Paul could have opened his greatest letter in any number of ways. He had the credentials to do it. But Paul wasn't always Paul. He was Saul, a man who persecuted Christians and tried to destroy the church. Everything changed when he encountered the risen Jesus on the road to Damascus.

From that day on, Paul saw himself as three things: a servant of Christ, sent with a message, and set apart for the Gospel.

That calling isn't just for Paul. If you belong to Jesus, God has a purpose for your life too. Your mission may not take you across the world. It may be to your family, your neighbors, your coworkers, or your friends.

The most important question isn't what you do for a living or what title you have. It's this: Is Jesus truly Lord of your life? Not just the One we call on when life gets hard, but the One we have fully surrendered to.

Paul didn't introduce himself by listing his accomplishments. He introduced himself by declaring who he belonged to. That's a powerful reminder for all of us.

I've never liked waiting. Even when choosing a doctor, I ask ahead of time, "What's your average wait time once I get there?" If it's more than 20 minutes, I'll find another doctor :-)

The truth is, most of us don't like to wait. We want answers now, opportunities now, and breakthroughs now.

But God's timing is not our timing. Anything significant God is going to do in your life will often take longer than you expect.

Joseph spent two years in prison before God elevated him. Moses spent 40 years in the wilderness before God called him to lead Israel. God wasn't delaying His plan. He was preparing them for it.

As 2 Peter 3:9 reminds us:

"The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you..."

If you're in a season of waiting, don't lose heart. Keep moving. Keep fighting. Keep trusting God. His timing is always perfect.
