Well, you probably guessed based on context clues, but on the off-chance you JUST now looked at your calendar and came to the page in a panic thinking you'd missed the September Friends of Dallas Scotch Society Happy Hour... you haven't.

We've been on the fence the last month. Between the spike in cases, kids being back in school, multiple personal experiences of friends and loved ones experiencing breakthrough cases (even one of our own), and the continued political divide over masks & vaccines... it's been a lot.

But all that, coupled with the recent (tragic) closing of Trinity Hall Irish Pub, a Dallas staple for 20 years, a personal favorite of ours, and the planned location for this month's shenanigans (which we can't help but view as a sign), has led us to postpone our "public reopening". At DSS, we're all about drinking responsibly, and putting 40-50 people in a bar this week just didn't feel like the smart move.

COVID-willing, we hope to be back in action with a November Happy Hour. But until then, please keep supporting the spirits and hospitality industry to the best of your ability & comfort, and we look forward to seeing you later this fall!

Man, SEVEN years ago. Feels like a lifetime. 2020 was a beating for all of us, but fret not, DSS will rise again in 2021! 🥃
