I wrote this 7 years ago today.

The enemy knows who you are, friend, and he's never been more scared.
When our lives start reading like a page out of Paul’s book, we need more than ever to know who we are. When our story begins with our own narrative of 2 Corinthians 11:24-29 more than ever do we need to know who God is.
“From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.
Three times I was beaten with rods;
once I was stoned;
three times I was shipwrecked;
a night and a day I have been in the deep;
in journeys often,
in perils of waters, in perils of robbers,
in perils of my own countrymen,
in perils of the Gentiles,
in perils in the city,
in perils in the wilderness,
in perils in the sea,
in perils among false brethren;
in weariness and toil,
in sleeplessness often,
in hunger and thirst,
in fastings often,
in cold and nakedness—
besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
Who is weak, and I am not weak?
Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?”
When our stories begin to spin and spiral we ask “Who is God?”, “Who am I?” and “What has God created me to do?” In our identity – the very essence of who we were created to be we find why the enemy hates us fiercely and seeks to steal, kill and destroy us. Some of us feel like we are in a robbing season where resources are being taken away. Some of us feel like we are in a destroying place where others and even ourselves become enemy #1 – undoing and sabotaging by our thoughts, beliefs and choices. When we are in a season where the enemy is pursuing us with every play in his Kill play book – watch out. It is here where we will have to stand our ground and face the giants. In this killing place, the enemy sees more of who you are than you do. God IS fighting for you and He WILL give you strength. You stand still and see what God does when He fights for you.
It is a very bad thing to p**s off a mama bear and mess with her cub.
It is a VERY BAD THING for the enemy to try to think he has a right to pick on you. He does not. He is powerless and you hold your ground and you REST.
Exodus 14:14 gives us our greatest battle strategy.
“The LORD will fight for you, you need only to be still.”
Be still.
As your body aches and your mind roars. Be still.
As you wonder what you will do. Be still.
Soak in the songs of the savior who loves you and gives Himself for you every day of your life.
Be still.
Be still and trust in a God who adores you. When opposition comes and the voices you hear without and within tell you who you aren’t, you remind them of who you are. YOU are a beloved child. YOU are created in the image and likeness of the king of Kings and the lord of Lords. No one gets to call you anything that God did not call you.
You are beloved.
You are free.
You are strong.
You are faithful.
You mirror who God is and who He always was and who He always will be.
His presence in your life calms the seas and erases the appearance of storms.
He calls what is NOT as though it is.
Let God give you NEW eyes to see exactly what the enemy is trying to do and use every resource God gives you to fight.
If you need to change doctors – do that.
If you need to rest and sleep and soak in art, writing, music – do that.
Do or not do whatever your soul needs to be still and see God in this moment.
The enemy doesn’t get to win. Not once.
Every place he has tried to shut you up and silence you became a talking point.
Every word became a point of connection between you and someone else who needs to hear the power of your testimony to build their faith.
Your life sounding like Paul’s?
Good.
Boast all the more about who you are, who God is and what you are created to do.
