I am scheduled for Open Door Conference Hours today from 4-6 PM EST in Conference Room 1 at Cason Estates at 1650 Cason Lane, Murfreesboro, TN.

🩋 If you are a non-profit organization leader in the area I would love to hear more about what you are doing.

🩋 I will also be available to assist authors who are stuck or need help on their current writing project.

You, typically, will have about 15 minutes to tell me about who you are, what you do, and what your ministry or non-profit organization’s needs are.

If someone else is waiting in person or online through AskWendyHamilton.com (Zoom Conference), you have 30 minutes to strategize with me.

🎄I am also interviewing children’s book illustrators (in person only). Bring your portfolio and/or copies of your published work products. 🙂

I have benefactors who sponsor my time so I can work with authors & leaders who need my help at no cost to them.

When I had a ringside seat to the prosperity gospel being taught, I realized that it was okay for the man teaching what he was teaching to literally have a woman on his ministry team who was homeless.

Her and her daughter lived at times in their car while the daughter went to the ministry school he co-founded and she applied for job after job after job at the ministry he was a senior leader of only to not get hired for roles she was qualified for because seemingly she was older than the other candidates.

I watched as he was okay with his living in his greed while she had much need.

He was also okay with being unapproachable and so separated by his pretensions and expansive delusions that another member of his team in physical pain who had faithfully served his ministry (technically, ministries) unpaid for multiple years did not feel as if she could do something as basic as ask for a recommendation of a dentist.

I learned that such a person would not and could not ever be anything more than a pauper king - a man in power and with authority who had no real understanding of what it takes to sacrifice or to serve as the “hands and feet of Jesus.”

He taught me that his version of being noble is basically how much and often he can indulge the desires of his flesh as if he, utilizing another’s gifts, talents, and resources in an unpaid or under-paid way, really on his own accomplished anything himself.

He used people.

I learned much when I was faced with the realities of the misapplication of the concepts of the scriptures of “sowing & reaping” which the commonly presented version is a pyramid scheme and on the concepts of what is a “prophet’s reward” which is often nothing more than a Ponzi scheme and not even biblical in the teaching’s commonly presented application.

I truly hate that I learned these lessons the hard way through the works - the actions and attitudes- of a mortal man in a redemptive process who should have learned differently from the examples and story of his own life, his own personal experiences, and in how people helped him.

Yet, he didn’t.

He didn’t.

He did not learn the lesson he was supposed to learn.

He didn’t.

I hate passionately and with great purpose how ruined by his own wealth he became.

I do want the tragic story of his life to be my teacher, be the lesson I never forget, be what reminds me time after time of what not to do, who not to be, to not let my own gifts, blessings, authority and favor lead the people around me to be broke and struggling so I can act as if I accomplished something.

I would rather daily go before God and “present my living sacrifice” and then watch daily as all but the smallest of smallest bit of my time and talent’s efforts gets burned away and only the seemingly smallest most minute measure is actually building wealth that is eternal and incorruptible.

Still one of my favorite quotes.

“Never has it been so easy to live in half a dozen harmless worlds at once — art, music, social science, games, motoring, the following of some profession, and so on. And between them we run the risk of drifting about, the good hiding the best. It is easy to find out whether our lives are focused, and if so, where the focus lies. Where do our thoughts settle when consciousness comes back in the morning? Where do they swing back when the pressure is off during the day? Dare to have it out with God, and ask Him to show you whether or not all is focused on Christ and His Glory. Turn your soul’s vision to Jesus, and look and look at Him, and a strange dimness will come over
all that is apart from Him.”

Isabella Lilias Trotter (1853-1928) was a single British woman who sacrificed a career in art in order to serve God in North Africa for 40 years. Her art and writings demonstrate her commitment to the beauty and truth of God’s Word and God’s world. Her lifestyle of a deep spirituality combined w...

Walk well the beautiful steps of your ordinary life. Embrace the quiet, near perfect moments. Appreciate people.

This life is your paragraph in Humanity’s story.

Write what needs little, if any, editing.

The enemy knows who you are, friend, and he's never been more scared.

When our lives start reading like a page out of Paul’s book, we need more than ever to know who we are. When our story begins with our own narrative of 2 Corinthians 11:24-29 more than ever do we need to know who God is.

“From the Jews five times I received forty stripes minus one.
Three times I was beaten with rods;
once I was stoned;
three times I was shipwrecked;
a night and a day I have been in the deep;
in journeys often,
in perils of waters, in perils of robbers,
in perils of my own countrymen,
in perils of the Gentiles,
in perils in the city,
in perils in the wilderness,
in perils in the sea,
in perils among false brethren;
in weariness and toil,
in sleeplessness often,
in hunger and thirst,
in fastings often,
in cold and nakedness—
besides the other things, what comes upon me daily: my deep concern for all the churches.
Who is weak, and I am not weak?
Who is made to stumble, and I do not burn with indignation?”

When our stories begin to spin and spiral we ask “Who is God?”, “Who am I?” and “What has God created me to do?” In our identity – the very essence of who we were created to be we find why the enemy hates us fiercely and seeks to steal, kill and destroy us. Some of us feel like we are in a robbing season where resources are being taken away. Some of us feel like we are in a destroying place where others and even ourselves become enemy #1 – undoing and sabotaging by our thoughts, beliefs and choices. When we are in a season where the enemy is pursuing us with every play in his Kill play book – watch out. It is here where we will have to stand our ground and face the giants. In this killing place, the enemy sees more of who you are than you do. God IS fighting for you and He WILL give you strength. You stand still and see what God does when He fights for you.

It is a very bad thing to p**s off a mama bear and mess with her cub.
It is a VERY BAD THING for the enemy to try to think he has a right to pick on you. He does not. He is powerless and you hold your ground and you REST.

Exodus 14:14 gives us our greatest battle strategy.

“The LORD will fight for you, you need only to be still.”

Be still.
As your body aches and your mind roars. Be still.
As you wonder what you will do. Be still.
Soak in the songs of the savior who loves you and gives Himself for you every day of your life.
Be still.

Be still and trust in a God who adores you. When opposition comes and the voices you hear without and within tell you who you aren’t, you remind them of who you are. YOU are a beloved child. YOU are created in the image and likeness of the king of Kings and the lord of Lords. No one gets to call you anything that God did not call you.

You are beloved.
You are free.
You are strong.
You are faithful.
You mirror who God is and who He always was and who He always will be.

His presence in your life calms the seas and erases the appearance of storms.
He calls what is NOT as though it is.
Let God give you NEW eyes to see exactly what the enemy is trying to do and use every resource God gives you to fight.

If you need to change doctors – do that.
If you need to rest and sleep and soak in art, writing, music – do that.
Do or not do whatever your soul needs to be still and see God in this moment.

The enemy doesn’t get to win. Not once.
Every place he has tried to shut you up and silence you became a talking point.
Every word became a point of connection between you and someone else who needs to hear the power of your testimony to build their faith.

Your life sounding like Paul’s?
Good.

Boast all the more about who you are, who God is and what you are created to do.
