SAN ANTONIO IS GETTING A SWEDISH HILL, ONE OF AUSTIN’S FAVORITE BAKERIES & CAFES 🥐
Y’alllllll some of the best pastries (or so we’ve heard from our friends at AUSTINITES101) are making their way to San Antonio! We’re getting our own Swedish Hill in the old Twin Sisters Bakery & Cafe space, and we’re so excited to have that fresh-baked smell back in the neighborhood!
WHAT’S ON THE MENU
If you’ve been to one of the Austin spots, you know the case! Think bagels, croissants, flaky kouign-amann, cookies, and tarts. And they have a stacked lunch line up too, with salads, sandwiches, rotisserie chicken, and deli salads that are delicious.
We’re also happy to hear the chicken tortilla soup from the original owner’s recipe will be making it’s way to the new shop!
THE SWEET-IST LITTLE HISTORY
It started as Sweetish Hill in 1975, in a converted Victorian house in East Austin. It was nearly shuttered in 2018 before Austin restaurant group MML Hospitality took it over and gave it the Swedish Hill name in 2019. There are four locations in Austin, one in Aspen, three opening across Dallas in 2027 and this will be MML’s first San Antonio spot!

The shop will be coming to the Sunset Ridge shopping center near Alamo Heights but opening date and hours are not yet announced. So stay tuned as we’ll update you as soon as we know when the doors open!
