BREAKING: The congresswoman who took Trump to court is outside watching his name come off the Kennedy Center tonight

Rep. Joyce Beatty of Ohio fought back when they tried to silence her, took the fight to court, and won. On Friday she stood outside the Kennedy Center and watched Trump's name get torn off the building she helped protect.

It started in December when Trump's hand-picked board of trustees voted to slap his name onto one of America's most sacred cultural landmarks, a living congressional memorial to President John F. Kennedy. When Beatty tried to voice her opposition during the board meeting, they muted her. So she sued them.

Federal Judge Christopher Cooper ruled in her favor, writing that Congress was crystal clear when it designated the Kennedy Center as a memorial to Kennedy in 1964. Only Congress has the authority to change that name. Not Trump. Not his loyalists. Congress.

On Friday the judge rejected a last-ditch emergency motion to delay the removal. Scaffolding went up. Workers moved in. And Rep. Beatty was right there out front, watching every moment of it.

She would not be muted. She would not back down. And tonight, Trump's name is coming off that wall because she refused to let it stand.
