Huston-Tillotson University has named Dr. Antonius Pegues as Vice President of Finance and Administration. In this role, he will leverage his financial expertise to manage accounts, expand revenue opportunities, reduce expenditures, and lead ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.

Dr. Pegues brings more than two decades of experience in higher education leadership. He most recently served as vice president for finance and administration at Albany State University. He previously served as vice president for finance and administration, Southern University-Shreveport, Louisiana; director of operations and business, Louisiana State University; and an adjunct business professor at Lamar State College Port Arthur, Houston Community College, Southern University at Shreveport, and American University. He also he held various senior-level corporate, governmental financial, and auditing positions.

CNN anchor Abby Phillip is making her literary debut this October with *A Dream Deferred: Jesse Jackson and the Fight for Black Political Power*, published by Flatiron Books. The biography explores Rev. Jesse Jackson’s groundbreaking 1984 and 1988 presidential campaigns and how they helped consolidate Black political power in America.

“If you know me, you know how important I believe HISTORY and STORYTELLING are,” Phillip shared. “Jesse Jackson broke barriers... paving the way not only for the first Black president but also supercharging the political power of Black voters in the Democratic Party.”
