It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected loss of one of our own.

Lieutenant AJ Almendarez passed away on Thursday, November 17th. He leaves behind a loving family, countless friends, and his brother and sister firefighters.

Lieutenant Almendarez was an exemplary leader and mentor to many people. Prior to joining Bexar-Bulverde, Lieutenant Almendarez served with the Lockhart Fire Department. He spent his life serving others. He will be missed and forever in our hearts.
