Joshua Tyler Jameson was born and raised in Columbus Ohio, where he attended The Ohio State University, earning his BM in Trombone Performance and Music Composition. He has played in a number of ensembles throughout the Columbus area, including the Central Ohio Brass Band, Chapel Brass, and as a founding member of the Dublin Silver Band where he's played tenor and bass trombone, baritone and euphonium. Most recently, he has become a member of the 338th United States Army Band, also based in Columbus.

Joshua's passion for music goes beyond just playing his trombone, as he is also a decorated composer and arranger. He is a four-time recipient of the US Open's 'Best New Composition or Arrangement Prize', and his works have been performed throughout the United States and Great Britain. Ensembles that have performed his works include River City Brass Band, Cory Band, Tredegar Town Band, The National Youth Brass Band of America, the Paducah and Elizabethtown Symphony Orchestras, the Glassmen Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps, the Ohio State University Athletic Band, various United States Army ensembles, and of course, Dublin Silver Band.

** HE WILL HOLD ME FAST (TROMBONE FEATURE WITH BAND) MATT MERKER ARR. NOEL BROOKS **

Originally conceived as a trombone duet for the graduation recital of Andy Brooks at Western University, this setting of Matt Merker’s popular choral work has been adapted by Noel Brooks as a featured work for trombone trio with brass band. The arrangement follows the emotional arc of the hymn’s lyrics, utilising the brass band’s colours to reflect the themes of each verse.

The journey begins with a sense of vulnerability; the accompaniment is kept sparse and cold to echo the text's plea regarding a failing faith. In the second verse, the music transitions into a more encouraging and uplifted atmosphere, reflecting the assurance of being "precious in His Holy sight."

A shift occurs in the third verse, which takes on a darker, more reflective character to support the gravity of the lyrics. This contemplative section builds steadily toward the final chorus, where a sense of confidence returns. The work culminates in a strong musical statement of the hymn’s central promise: "He will hold me fast."

** KING (TROMBONE CONCERTINO WITH BRASS BAND) BRENTON BROADSTOCK **

We are delighted to welcome BRENTON BROADSTOCK to our composer stable! Brenton is a renowned Australian composer and educator awarded the Order of Australia whose acclaimed orchestral, chamber, and brass band works are performed globally.

We are pleased to make this new work available. 'KING' is a major new addition to the trombone repertoire, commissioned in 2024 by Brett Baker as a deeply personal homage to his mentor, the legendary conductor Prof. David King.

This compelling Concertino for Solo Trombone and Brass Band seeks to capture the multifaceted personality of its namesake through three distinct movements:

i. Rhapsodic: A movement defined by fluid tempo shifts and evocative mood changes.

ii. Introspective: A generous, lyrical section that highlights the expressive capabilities of the soloist.

iii. Fast & Passionate: A high-energy finale characterized by determination, optimism, and rhythmic drive.

The work is masterfully constructed with pitch material derived directly from the name 'David,' establishing a thematic core introduced by the soloist in the opening bars and woven throughout the entire ensemble texture. It is an essential work for soloists looking for a piece that combines technical brilliance with profound musical narrative.

This excerpt features Brett Baker and Flowers Band and is drawn from the CD 'The Heroic Trombone'.

** ENDURING FAITH (BRASS BAND) ANDREW WAINWRIGHT **

'Enduring Faith' was commissioned by Christopher Ward and the Five Lakes Silver Band and is a lyrical work for brass band that explores the intersection of hope, resilience, and conviction. Designed with a focus on melodic clarity and expressive phrasing, the composition moves through a series of nuanced emotional shifts - ranging from quiet, reflective passages to moments of expansive lyricism and affirmation.

The harmonic structure travels through several keys, serving as a musical metaphor for the changing seasons of life. Throughout the piece, the texture is enriched by featured soloists from across the ensemble, including flugel horn, cornet, euphonium, baritone, and trombone.

This work is dedicated to Doug and Stephanie Bayne, long-standing members of the Five Lakes Silver Band, in recognition of their commitment to their community and their steadfast support of the ensemble. It was recorded by the Five Lakes Silver Band on their 2025 album, 'Legacy', available on major streaming platforms.

** CELEBRATING THE CENTENARY OF QUEEN ELIZABETH II **

Yesterday marked what would have been the 100th birthday of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. To commemorate this historic milestone, BrookWright Music is proud to highlight the poignant arrangement for brass band and wind band of 'Elizabeth Remembered,' a tribute that continues to resonate with performers and audiences across the globe.

Originally composed by the acclaimed Debbie Wiseman for the BBC’s coverage of the Queen’s passing, the piece was arranged by Andrew Wainwright and Glenn Greet. Since its release, it has become a staple for bands looking to provide a moment of reflection and dignity in their programmes.

As the brass band community reflects on the Queen’s legacy, Elizabeth Remembered stands as a musical testament to a remarkable life.

** UNBOUNDED LOVE (BRASS BAND) OLAF RITMAN **

'Unbounded Love' is a deeply moving work that bridges the gap between sacred tradition and personal tribute. Drawing inspiration from the beloved 18th-century hymn 'Ich bete an die Macht der Liebe' (I Pray to the Power of Love), this arrangement transforms a timeless spiritual message into a profound musical experience.

The foundation of this work lies in the 1822 melody by Dmitri Bortniansky. Originally set to the poetry of Gerhard Tersteegen, this dignified and contemplative theme has served as a cornerstone of ceremonial music for centuries, symbolising solace, reverence, and the liberating power of divine love.

'Unbounded Love' is an intimate memorial dedicated to Hein Voskamp, a cherished soprano player and close friend of the composer. Born from a simple final request - to hear this hymn one last time - the piece became the composer’s way of navigating grief and expressing gratitude when words were no longer enough.

This video features the Amsterdam Staff Band, conducted by the arranger Olaf Ritman.
