DAY 10. The last day of my 10days series
What I Want the Hope House to Become
When I started this journey in 2022, I was only thinking about those Six people. Later I started thinking about building an institution.
Today, The Hope House has grown far beyond what I imagined when I first walked into that ghetto.
We have reached thousands of people.
We have our own campus.
We have a team.
We have professionals working alongside us.
We have families who trust us.
And we have former clients whose lives have continued beyond the Hope House.
But I don’t look at what we’ve accomplished and think
“We are finished.”
“There is still so much more to do.”
My vision for the Hope House is bigger than a building.
I want it to become a place where recovery, rehabilitation, education, empowerment and opportunity come together.
I want us to continue strengthening the support we provide to people affected by substance use.
I want to create more opportunities for young people to rebuild their lives.
I want the Hope House to learn from organizations doing this work around the world and, equally, to share what we are learning from our own experience.
And I want to build relationships with professionals, organizations, researchers, healthcare and mentalhealth practitioners, social impact leaders, people who care about young people, and people who believe that communities can change.
If you are working in any of these areas, I would love to connect with you please 🙏 I wanna learn from u and also share my experience with you.
I believe the next chapter can be even bigger.
We started with a simple idea: give people HOPE.
That remains at the heart of everything we do.
The journey continues. We move ahead ahead ✊🇱🇷💪 thanks so much for reading 🫡
God bless Liberia 🇱🇷 and the people of Liberia 🇱🇷
