We enjoyed hosting students from Cannon School at WSGE this morning. They are working on podcasts and visited WSGE to learn about radio & production. They also stopped in at Gaston College’s Rhinovation Station to see their podcast studio.

WSGE is a partner of Gaston 250. They are offering some great programs in celebration of our country’s 250th anniversary later this year, including trading cards and a Passport Program. Pick up a passport booklet at any of the participating historical locations and collect stamps as you explore Gaston County’s rich history. Gaston College Sports Media Technology student, Jacob Brindle, recently celebrated a big win of his own when he rang the bell marking the successful end of his cancer treatment. 🌟

Jacob plays a significant role in our sports broadcasting program and recently shared how being part of that team helped him during his treatment – "Not only did it take away thinking about all of the chemotherapy, but it was also building me as a student and a man, and it has helped me realize so many things beyond the classroom."

Way to go, Jacob! 🦏💪
