Split vs. Trim, know the difference and you’ll edit faster.

Been shooting with the FUJIFILM X/GFX USA X-E5 for a few weeks now, paired with the 7ARTISANS OFFICIAL 35mm manual focus lens and something about manual focus makes you slow down and actually compose the shot instead of just pointing and shooting. Never touched film in my life but this has to be close to what that feels like minus all the settings lol. Loving this Fujifilm X-E5 and 7Artisans combo so far and I’m just getting started with it 📸

If you’re an absolute beginner in Edits this is for you to get you up and running.

I’ve been a video editor for years but I’m always chained to my desk on a computer. So I started learning the Instagram Edits app to edit straight from my phone, and I’m bringing you along for it.

This one covers the basics:

Split - divides a clip in two so you can cut and rearrange pieces
Trim - adjust the yellow tabs on either end of a clip to shorten or extend it
Duplicate - copies your selected clip and drops it right next to the original
Overlay - stacks a clip or image on top of your timeline so it shows on the top layer

These four are your bread and butter once you’re in the app.

Your ADHD is the problem. And your lack of systems is too.
