🚨Flash Flood Emergencies Continue Across Southern Louisiana & Mississippi🚨
The remnants of Tropical Storm Arthur 🌀 continue to produce catastrophic flooding across parts of southern Louisiana and Mississippi.
Preliminary reports indicate more than 24 inches of rain has fallen in some locations roughly 60 miles north of Lafayette, while widespread totals of 10 to 15 inches have been reported northeast of New Orleans and across portions of southern Mississippi.
Multiple Flash Flood Emergencies remain in effect, signaling a life-threatening flooding situation. Roads and bridges may be washed out, and floodwaters can rise rapidly with little warning.
Please keep everyone impacted by this historic flooding event in your thoughts and prayers.
If you live in a flood-prone area, move to higher ground immediately if instructed by local officials, and never drive through flooded roadways. Turn Around, Don't Drown.
I'll continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as conditions warrant. 🌧️🙏
