As your organization is aware the FCRA clearly outlines that errors, inaccurate, outdated or unverifiable information can be disputed by consumers. As a resident of the great state of Texas the statute of Limitations for an adverse entry on my credit report is four years, not the 7 years outlined by FCRA. Texas law sets a four-year statute of limitations for debt collection AND debt collection lawsuits. As a reminder in 2019, changes in the law aimed to protect people from zombie debt. Section 392.207 of the Texas Finance Code no longer allows the statute of limitations to be revived by a payment or a payment arrangement for the debt.

Once you have contacted the three credit reporting agencies with the updated and corrected entry on my credit report please contact me with a written confirmation for my records.

On July 25, in 1941, Emmett Till was born, he died as a 14 year old boy who should’ve had the chance to grow old. Cause of death was Lynching (bullet woundand mutilation)
His life was cut short by hate, but his story helped ignite a movement that changed the world. We honor his legacy and his mother’s courageous fight for justice. Mamie Till fought for him until her last breath.
