Long post read to the end
Pt 2
When people get fumbled/dropped it represents to most people as an offense. There is thinking that says if you are mature in your faith and walk in the love of God that you should not be offended by anyone or situation. That may hold true for those who have that mindset but for those who don’t the bible gives instruction for dealing with offense.
Mat 18:15 (KJV)
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
Here is the issue the offended too many times won’t approach the offender because for them the offense was so great or they believe nothing will come from it, there by causing an act of disobedience on their part and allowing the offender to unknowingly (sometimes)walk around with the blood of offense on their hands. What if the injured party walks in obedience to Mat. 18:15, what should the response be when it is brought to a persons attention that they have injured their brother or sister. It should not be, I didn’t know I offended you, you’re just triggered from your past trauma, you just need to be healed. Those statements may be true but in the situation a heart of humility and contrition is in order. Words that restore a person and lifts them up. We in the body of Christ say we love most of the time it is in word with no corresponding action. There is so much to unpack, walking in the spirit, bridling our tongue. Doing unto others as we want them to do unto us. We so call ourselves discerning people and yet cannot discern ourselves. There will be some who won’t agree with this lengthy post and some will. The bible tells us to examine ourselves, as we used to say back in the day. Check yourself before you wreck yourself. Offended and offender alike. Pay attention to the seeds you sow. There’s a harvest coming. Also don’t forget to forgive most of us know what God says about that.
