Not the weekend I wanted to have. I had the pace but aggressiveness and not controlling my feelings got the best of me. It was fun regardless, Im proud I was able to compete with the best the central US has to offer. Until next time, vamos! #

There are times, such as after the poor race weekend I had, that I wonder what the hell Im doing. Then I get this text today from my wife:

"I can't stop thinking about how proud you make me. I truly look up to you. I know you talk about how hard this racing thing is and how you feel like the odds are stacked up against you (age, fitness, etc) but actually seeing what a hustle it is (from setup, to the heat, and then we were there with you), I'm like in awe... You put yourself out there for something you believe in; I can too!! I love you"

Its official. I keep pushing against the odds!

Post race weekend report: Morning race started off great, I got a solid jump at the race start and was fighting mid pack. Then, I got overly confident. I overshot a corner entry, came in too hot, braked late and had another rider colide into me from the rear. It was my fault. I lost so much time after that. It stayed replaying in my head and caused me to really start making numerous errors. I was so far back from the pack, and by the time I was able to refocus, lock in and start reeling in the pack, the race was over. Im so mad at myself for causing a racing incident. Race 2 was no better. I think race 1 was still in my head, I got a bad start (wheelied my bike at lights out) and lost time, but was able to catch up at corner 1 and found myself in the pack. By turn 3, I was off track in the grass, again, being too aggressive. I rejoined, in last place. Locked in and pushed like a mad man. Then, the next lap, went off track again, this time, really bad. I did some motocross 🫠, but kept the bike up and rejoined again. I was able to catch up to one rider and pass them but still finished second to last. This weekend does not represent what I am capable of. I will lock in mentally for my next race weekend. Vamos!
