Pompeii offers an accessible route called “Pompeii for All” (Pompeii per tutti), and it is a powerful step toward inclusion. This route spans more than 3.5 kilometers and allows people with limited mobility to experience many of the most important areas of this ancient city. For a place that is almost 2,000 years old, this effort truly matters. There is no access in the main door however they have two doors that are accessible with very good built ramps. It is important to go with a guide who knows all the routes!

We are two friends who have the same love for Rykers and I’m so grateful we never stopped dreaming and worked hard to adapt to a Ryker with a disability. Sergio is a champ and he does work the wheelchair really well!

This is an old building in Paris that has been adapted to be more wheelchair-friendly for people who use wheelchairs or other mobility and medical devices. Updating historic buildings is not easy, but this place shows that accessibility is possible when there is willingness and effort.

Small changes can make a big difference, like adding a ramp, widening entrances, or making sure everyone can enter with dignity and independence. Accessibility is not about special treatment; it is about equal access. When old spaces are adapted, they become welcoming to everyone, not just people with disabilities.

Accessibility in Paris can be very difficult and challenging. There are laws that require wheelchair access, but not everyone follows them, just like in many other cities around the world. However, there are public places and businesses that truly try to be more inclusive.

I believe we should support businesses that do everything they can to welcome people of all abilities. Many ramps are hidden at the front door. Watch this video and see how this man pulls out the ramp to give me access to the store.

This is one of the coolest trikes I have ever ridden, and it was also my first time going over small hills in a different city. From the very first push, I felt something special. The trike moved smoothly, and I could feel the road, the air, and the rhythm of my body working with the machine. Going uphill was challenging, but in a good way. It reminded me that strength comes in many forms, and that effort is something to be proud of. Every small hill felt like a personal victory.

What I loved the most was the feeling of freedom. Being surrounded by mountains made everything feel bigger and calmer at the same time. The fresh air, the open space, and the views reminded me why I love being outside. Moments like this make me forget about limits and focus on possibilities. I was not thinking about what I cannot do. I was focused on what I was doing right then, in that moment.

Trying this trike in a new city also meant trusting myself in a different environment. New streets, new paths, and new sensations can be scary, but they can also be empowering. Every turn I took helped build my confidence. It showed me that exploring does not have to stop because of fear or because things are different. It just means adapting and finding new ways to move forward.

Experiences like this are a reminder of how important accessibility and adaptive equipment are. When we have the right tools, the world opens up. We deserve to feel joy, adventure, and freedom, just like anyone else. Being able to ride through the mountains, feel the sun on my face, and challenge my body was a gift.

As we know, transferring onto a paddle can be very difficult and a bit risky, especially when we are sitting on a hard surface. I’m usually very quick when I do a transfer like this because I don’t want to hurt my skin.

Anyway, this is one of my favorite activities when I’m in Annecy. If you ever travel there and have someone to help you with the transfer, I recommend giving it a try. What do you think?

The holidays are a reminder of Jesus, love, and kindness.
They invite us to be better people to care for others, forgive more, and lead with compassion.
May we carry these values beyond the season and into everyday life.
