Most people know me as just a Real Estate Agent , but I’ve never believed my job is simply to sell a property, collect a commission & move on.
My job is also to protect & serve the community where I sell those properties.
That’s why I’ve stayed deeply involved in the PFAS issue in Northwest Georgia. I’ve been on the front lines—fighting, advocating and lobbying for our community. I’ve made trips to the State Capitol, met with lawmakers and attorneys, and sat through hearings involving HB 211, HB 1212 and SB 577. I haven’t just watched this issue from the sidelines—I’ve been involved in this fight from the beginning, and I’m not walking away from it now.
Because PFAS isn’t only an environmental issue — it’s a real estate issue.
It can affect what testing or environmental due diligence may need to be considered on certain properties, and environmental concerns can ultimately affect marketability, investment decisions and property values.
And this Tuesday, something important happened…..🤩🤩
A federal appeals court upheld the EPA’s designation of PFOA and PFOS — two PFAS “forever chemicals” — as hazardous substances under federal Superfund law.
In plain English: the legal framework that can help make parties ultimately found responsible for certain PFAS contamination bear qualifying cleanup costs remains in place.
That matters here in NWGA, where PFAS litigation is already underway.
Being a Real Estate Agent isn’t just about my next commission. It’s about knowing what’s happening in our community today that could affect our families, our properties and our investments tomorrow.
I can sell this community and still fight for this community. In fact, I believe that’s part of my job.
