I am SO excited to announce my very first Unsung Hero! This person was nominated by Lynn Latham. This was her message to me telling why she wanted to nominate Mason Horton
“Mason is the founder of Acts of Valor Foundation A non-profit foundation to assist veterans with transitioning from service life to civil life. The foundation also assists with other needs of veterans as well as the homeless population in our area. Personal hygiene, MRE’s, resources for physical and mental health, housing, and so many other avenues are offered through the foundation. He also operates the foundation while owning and managing his own businesses…Horton Home Inspections and Trident Commercial Inspections.
And…keeping up an active family and church obligations.”
Here’s a quick interview to introduce you to Mason.

“I’ve lived in Whitfield County my entire life except for my time in the Marine Corps. I love this community because of how much opportunity there is here to succeed.
My own experience and struggles after I left the Marine Corps is why I decided to start Acts of Valor Foundation. I know first hand what struggles come after you leave military service. Acts of Valor is a chance for myself and other veterans to guide and assist those that are in need or without purpose.
Outside of Acts of Valor I enjoy golf and time spent with family. My wife has been my backbone and driving force behind starting businesses and the foundation.
Knowing there is someone out there in need of assistance or just pointed in the right direction is what keeps me motivated to continue Acts of Valor’s mission. We strive to provide assistance by financial means, resources, or through our Hiring Heroes program.”

In mediation, we work to create spaces where empathy and fairness can flourish, helping people come together with mutual respect, understanding, and a commitment to justice.

Today, let’s honor the true spirit of kindness by embracing our role in building bridges. Whether through mediation, advocating for civil rights, or simply offering a helping hand, every act of kindness has the potential to make the world a more just and compassionate place for all.

It's not really luck when you network with ODD.
But it sure is fun! Let's face it, few of us LOVE to network, sure it's part of the job but when you choose to spend your time with like-minded businesses who actually want to get to know you, it just feels different. That's the culture of One Degree Dalton.

So mark those calendars for March 6th. We will be visiting one of Dalton's newest restaurants, Big Time Billiards and Cafe. They're located at 1129 S. Thornton Ave.
Although they have an extensive menu, we have an lunch special that day. Plates of meat and 2 veggies, with drink and your tip are $20. The networking is FREE!

And a little Leprechaun told me that every attendee gets a Pot-o-Gold! Come see what the excitement is all about. Everyone is welcome.
