Been Hearing Alot Of Negative Feedback On Here Lately 😒 About The Virginia Department Game Trout Program .... What Are Your Thoughts? 🤔 Drop A Comment Below 👇🏼

Personally my account Of the last 3 years has been more on the Negative side as well. Here in Lower Southwest VA, we have dealt with a couple of big kill offs from gill lice & disease
To less stockings or fewer fish per stocking

It seems Harder to catch a limit each trip than in the previous years. And If your seeking That VA Slam you about need to fish a special day pass stream or you'll usually have to fish two or three streams in a single Day to find the trio of trout. I didn't really notice a difference in size quality as much as I did notice quantities being smaller.

I do remember during the pandemic, people saying they sold record numbers of fishing liscense and yes the banks were a lot more crowded 😳 a lot of people enjoying the outdoors during those times. This should have equated into more revenue for producing more fish in my opinion...

but if you recall we had a couple of our Favorite events canceled 😞 Big Tumbling & Crooked Creek Trophy Week 🏆 seems like they canceled it two years in a row if memory serves me well... a big upset here in SWVA. Should we not be about into the final growth stages of the trout being raised from the funds of those Record sales ? Seems we should have caught up to the good again by now ...

Lastly, we are talking again this year about budget cuts and fewer stockings and less fish per stocking. Along with pre posting the location and dates of stockings in advance. Thats gonna make it tough on the working man and the kids in school mon to friday. And although I had a good time fishing The two Trophy Weeks, I do not recall seeing as many Trophy fish posts this go ...

West Virginia Seems to be doing real good at thier program, & Tennessee is probably the best in my opinion 👌🏼 top notch world class. Maybe bring in some experience and knowledge from these to groups to get VA where it needs to be.

I still fully appreciate all the hard working guys and staff and want to point out this seems more like a politics problem along with money allocation
