Martyred Intellectuals Day

In 1971, Bangladesh fought a brutal war of independence against Pakistan after years of political oppression, economic exploitation, and denial of democratic rights. During the final days of the war, Pakistani forces and their local collaborators carried out a systematic massacre of Bangladeshi intellectuals-professors, doctors, journalists, engineers, and writers.

December 14 is observed as Martyred Intellectuals Day in Bangladesh, to remember this calculated act of genocide and to honor those who were killed for the crime of thinking, teaching, and speaking for their people.

UTEP's beloved International Food Fair returned to campus today, and the wait was worth it! 🧡 🌎 💙 Miners tasted cuisine from around the world, including Honduras, Bhutan, Portugal, Bangladesh, India and Russia. 🥟 🍛 🍗 🍰 Thanks to all who participated!

জীবনের ব্যস্ততার ভিড়ে এই মানুষটার জন্য তেমন কিছুই করা হয় না।
কিন্তু এই অগোছালো মানুষটার সাথে থাকার জন্যে , সহ্য করার জন্যে,
সবকিছু ছেড়ে পাশে থাকার জন্য, তাঁকে কৃতজ্ঞতা জানাবার ভাষা আমার নেই।

তবে একটা গান লিখেছি - শুধুই তোমার জন্য।
অনেক কষ্টে তোমাকে ক্যামেরার সামনে বসে থাকার জন্য ধন্যবাদ 😄
