Memorial Day 2019 - Special Discounts on Plans and Accessories

Greetings,

I want to thank all of you for your support over the last few years, and so am offering up two discount codes valid for all sales this weekend, through Tuesday, May 28. You can see our listings at https://store.flying-models.com.

Entering discount code "G1550" at checkout will save you 15% on orders over $50, while "MEM19" will provide free shipping on orders over $100. You can't use them both at the same time, but play with the shopping cart, and perhaps the 15% code will save you more than the free shipping.

All plans are shipped rolled via priority mail within the domestic US, and are folded for international orders. Also note that unless you prefer Priority, I will ship all back issues via media mail and refund the excess charges once they are on the way.

In addition to the Flying Models plans, we are also offering plans for Gary Webb's popular easy-building RC sailboat designs, Ivan Pettigrew's larger standoff scale electric models, as well as Larry Sweat's gorgeous Boeing 314. Additional information can be found in the individual listings. We have several new products that we believe are quite exciting, with more to come over the next few weeks.

Please distribute to anyone you think might be interested, and as always, please do let me know if you have any questions or comments.

Sincerely,

Thayer

We had another great few days at Joe Nall this year. Two of the highlights were seeing David Payne flying Chuck Gratner's new Riley Model B and Dan Landis doing the first flight honors with Zeke Brubaker's prototype Boeing 314 flying boat.

It is with regret that Carstens Publicatons, Inc. will be closing permanently at close of business on Friday, August 22, 2014. Carstens Publications, Inc. has been a leading publisher of leading hobby magazines for over 50 years. Unfortunately the current economic climate has placed us in this position. Discussion is continuing with several parties who expressed desire to take on the continuance of the magazines. At this point there is still hope that all three titles will remain in existence. But I can offer no guarantees. We thank you for your patronage over the years, and wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.

Carstens Publications has announced that negotiations are taking place with several companies regarding the future publishing of Railfan & Railroad, Railroad Model Craftsman, and Flying Models magazines. All involved ask for your patience at this time.

JUNE 2014: Turning from base onto final, the Multiplex Pilatus PC-6 Turbo Porter eases in for another perfect landing. Thayer Syme reviews this fun, utilitarian, sport scale model, starting on page 34. For 60 years, modelers from throughout the United States and Canada have attended the Toledo Weak Signals show to see what’s new and display their latest models. Witness these incredible models in the 2014 static contest through the lens of Greg Cardillo’s in this eight-page feature. In a special first of two part article, Wallace Louie introduces us to his original A-10 Thunderbolt II, uniquely designed for a single, small and economical JetCat P-60 turbine. The popularity of quadcopters is on the rise and this month Thayer reviews the Heli-Max 230Si quad, while Jim Wiggin looks at the Estes Proto X. Jim Vigani reviews the new E-flite Extra 330SC BP 3D and enjoys some unlimited aerobatics and 3D flying. All of these great articles, plus your favorite columns, are in the June issue of FLYING MODELS. www.flying-models.com
