There was an event at the Danville Stadium in Danville, Illinois on Aug 16, 1968. It had 6 local bands and headed by The Villagers with Jeff Ross, Dennis Palmer, Larry Killough, Mel Hoaks and Bill Cunningham. It was 57 years ago. Let's all celebrate.

Here is an original by Dennis Palmer. Written in 2023, it is about the old Dixie Flyer passenger train that travelled through Danville for 80 years. It changed to a diesel-powered engine in the 1940's. and the last run was in 1966. Hope you enjoy it. Ok to share.
