Murder Investigation
Underway in County

The Yell County Sheriff Department posted on May 11, 2025
that Jacob Bonner was being held in the Law Enforcement Center
on a charge of Homicide - Murder, 1st Degree.
The murder victim has not been named as of Monday morning, May 12.

ARKWEST to Sell to
PhireLink of Louisiana

It was announced today that PhireLink of
Farmerville, Louisiana is in the stages of
acquiring ARKWEST COMMUNICATIONS of
Danville, Arkansas.

The acquisition will take place over several
months as it requires regulatory approval.

Currently on scene with the United States Forest Service, Arkansas Forestry, Yell County Emergency Management, Yell County Road Department, and local fire departments south of Danville. USFS has a line around the fire and reporting 100% contained. This fire is on public land and at this time not a threat to private property. Local fire departments are in the area for support.

Yell County will be placed under a 24 hour Burn Ban tomorrow March 14, 2025 begin at 6 am and ending Saturday March 15, 2025 at 6 am.

This is due to the extremely windy conditions that have been forecasted for Friday.

The Yell County Record is currently accepting applications for part time help.
Some of the duties include: Answering phones, assisting customers that come into the office and a paper route on Wednesdays. Must have transportation and a valid drivers license.
If you are interested in this position please come by the office to fill out an application M-F 8am - 3:30pm. We are located at 602 Main Street in Danville.
