Military Training in the Area!!!

Please note that there will be increased military training through 7/15 in the Seacoast area. This training is taking place from Pease for a large scale exercise. HERE COMES THE HEAT! According to the National Weather Service and the State of New Hampshire, the region will be experiencing a heat index Monday through Wednesday (subject to change with weather patterns). The Danville Community Center will be available as a Cooling Center for anyone who needs it. Please CALL 603-974-3091 if you need access to the Community Center from Sunday through Wednesday. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.

April 2025 incident log 🚨

This month saw a total of 35 calls including a 1st alarm brush fire in town and multiple mutual aid requests. Twice this month we got hit with simultaneous medical calls requiring a Hampstead Ambulance to respond mutual aid. In the very near future we will receive our 2nd ambulance allowing us to capture these simultaneous medical aid requests. The 2nd ambulance is being purchased at $0 cost to the taxpayers thanks to the Danville Fire Association! As always thank you to our phenomenal staff for their continued hard work and dedication!

**Danville Fire assists Sandown with a 2nd alarm Brush Fire**

At 12:10 this afternoon Danville Forestry 1 & Engine 3 were requested mutual aid to Woodland Drive in Sandown for a 2nd Alarm Brush Fire caused by an arcing transformer in the woods. Danville responded with a total of 5 personnel (Capt. Schofield, Lt. Zellen, FF Douphinette, FF Bryan & FF Dermody) Forestry 1 assisted in fire attack while Engine 3 provided water supply for our Forestry & the Chester Forestry. Captain Schofield was requested to assume Command of the incident while the limited Sandown personnel on scene worked the fire. Crews were able to quickly stop the forward progression of the fire and remained on scene almost 2 hours overhauling the area. In addition to the Sandown & Danville companies mutual aid was also provided by a Chester Forestry, Hampstead Tanker, Plaistow Forestry, Atkinson Forestry, Fremont Forestry Tanker & the State of NH Forest District Ranger. We’re fortunate to belong to a strong mutual aid network and are always happy to help!

Department Promotional Announcement:

Following some recent departmental restructuring, we are pleased to announce the promotion of three outstanding individuals whose dedication, leadership, and professionalism have consistently contributed to the success of our team.

Eric Czifrik has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and will serve as the departments fire training officer. Eric works full time for the Bedford, NH Fire Department in the role of FF/AEMT having previously served as a full time Lieutenant/AEMT with the Epping, NH Fire Department. Lt. Czifrik has already shown strong leadership and a commitment to excellence bringing great training to our department.

Matt Zellen has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant/Paramedic. Matt works full time as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Wi******er, MA. Lt. Zellen has proven to be a very active call member since joining our department and provides outstanding Paramedic care to our residents. Lt. Zellen will oversee the firefighters assigned to company 5.

Nolan Godfrey has been promoted to Lieutenant/Paramedic. Nolan works full time as a Firefighter/Paramedic in Georgetown, MA. With our private ambulance contractor moving out, EMS has taken on a much larger role in our department, Lt. Godfrey will serve as the assistant EMS coordinator and assist in future trainings and growth of our EMS services.

Please join us in congratulating these individuals on their well deserved promotions. Their advancement reflects not only their personal achievements but also the department’s ongoing commitment to growth and excellence.

**Danville Fire responds to a Brush Fire**

Mutual aid coverage: Salem Engine & Atkinson Tanker

At 21:16 last evening Danville Fire was dispatched to the area of Moose Hollow Road for a Brush Fire, while en route Danville Police arrived in the area and reported the fire to be on Junebug Lane. Danville personnel responded with Forestry 1, Engine 1, Engine 3 & Ambulance 1. During our response, Police reported a 150 x 50 area with exposure issues, O-1 (Lieutenant Caillouette) subsequently requested a “First Alarm” bringing a Hampstead Forestry, Sandown Forestry, Kingston Tanker & Fremont Tanker to the scene along with a Salem Engine & Atkinson Tanker for station coverage. Our crews arrived and were quickly able to deploy two hoselines and stop the forward progression of the fire. Personnel remained on scene overhauling the area and extinguishing hotspots before returning in service. Strong work by the Danville crews on scene and thank you to our mutual aid partners for their assistance!

On Tuesday night Lieutenant Czifrik conducted SCBA & RIT training with our members at the station. Crews went through following a hose line to safety, converting a downed firefighters air pack for extrication and removing the downed firefighter. Strong work by all members involved!

February saw the end of our Contract with Pridestar/Trinity EMS. Moving forward our Department will be the primary transporting agency for Danville, fortunately we have been handling these responsibilities for the better part of the last year, getting our members and community prepared for this transition.
