Since the renovation budget is already doing Olympic-level gymnastics, I wanted an affordable solution I could buy that day. I checked Five Below first: plenty of cute storage, but nothing that fit my drawer. Then Dollar Tree came through with exactly what I needed.

Six organizers. $1.50 each. Nine dollars for the entire drawer—and now I can actually find my stuff. That’s the kind of instant gratification this midlife mama needed. 🤍

Back-to-school snack shopping at Target when you have kids with food allergies (peanut/tree nut/dairy) looks a little different around here. 😅

MadeGood is always an easy win for us. We love their granola bars and little muffin packs, and knowing they’re made without the top allergens makes packing school snacks SO much easier.

And listen… I know Oreos and Ritz aren’t exactly health food. 😂 But sometimes kids just want the same fun snacks their friends know and love, and I’m all for a little normalcy and a sweet treat every now and then. We actually prefer the gluten-free Oreos—the texture is better IMO!

For chips, we love Boulder Canyon, especially the ones cooked in olive oil. I found the avocado oil version at Target, but because avocado is one of our allergies, we usually grab the olive oil version at The Fresh Market.

😴 NORMAL TIRED vs. PERIMENOPAUSE TIRED.
😰 NORMAL ANXIETY vs. PERIMENOPAUSE ANXIETY.
How can you tell the difference? 👀

Because sometimes you’re tired because life is LIFE-ING. 😂
Sometimes you’re anxious because you actually have something to be anxious about.

And sometimes… your body seems to have missed the memo that everything is fine. 🫠

⚡️ You slept, but you’re still exhausted.
🧠 Your brain suddenly has 37 tabs open.
😵‍💫 You feel anxious or on edge and can’t quite explain why.

🚨 Tell me what’s on your nightstand without telling me your age. 😂

Nobody warns you that adulthood ends with a nightly handful of pills and strong opinions about magnesium.

One day you’re staying up until 2 a.m. fueled by caffeine and bad decisions. The next, you’re double-checking whether you took your progesterone, keeping reading glasses within arm’s reach, and getting mildly stressed because you’re down to your last three melatonin gummies.

And somehow, without my permission, my nightstand now looks exactly like my grandma’s.

The wild part? Half of these bottles are the reason I can actually function tomorrow.

If you’re wondering whether brain fog is part of midlife, allow me to present Exhibit A. 😂

I hit record fully convinced I knew exactly what I was about to say.

I did not.

Somewhere between chopping potatoes, Father’s Day, and staring into the distance, my thought disappeared without so much as a goodbye.

The good news? I eventually remembered we were about to renovate our house.

The bad news? This is basically how most of my conversations go these days.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who walks into a room, opens the fridge, or starts a sentence and immediately forgets what was happening.

Reheating my coffee for the 4th time. In a Christmas mug. In June.

All my other cups are in the sink and I'm not ready to talk about it.

This is perimenopause in real time. The brain fog said "drink your coffee" but forgot to remind me until it was ice cold. Again.

At least the Christmas mug is festive. We're calling it a vibe.

Forget couples therapy… just give me the glorious, argument-erasing gift of perimenopause brain fog. 🤣✨

The number of disagreements that have completely evaporated from my memory is probably saving us a fortune. One minute I’m ready to prove my point, and the next minute… what were we talking about again? 😂🤷‍♀️

Perimenopause is wild, but every now and then it throws in an unexpected perk. 🙌

What in the living millennial nightmare did I just witness? There I was, casually flipping channels, and instead of I Love Lucy or Bewitched, Nick at Nite is now playing The Big Bang Theory. I mean, excuse me—this was supposed to be the land of black-and-white nostalgia, not Sheldon Cooper! 🤨
I’m not crying, you are. My childhood just got bazinga’d. 🤦‍♀️😆🤣
