Such an honor (and so much fun!) to be one of the three judges opening night of the third annual Lit Tree Lane Festival of Trees at the Darien Library last Friday!
Each tree represents a favorite book and was decorated by a different local artist or organization. Fellow judges were George Wyper, honorary trustee and former president of the Darien Library Board, and Darien’s own Tessa Wegert, Author critically acclaimed for her Shana Merchant mysteries as well as the North Country series, fresh off a book tour for her latest book “In the Bones.”
VERY difficult to pick “winners” when all 22(!) in this year’s exhibit are so deserving of a blue ribbon—each so inventive in its own way, and representing such talent and commitment. Just wait til you see them! …and when you do, be sure to vote for your favorites. The Library will be announcing the People’s Choice winners later this month.
Such an awesome, big-energy kick off to the holiday season ...with yummy bites and libations, the amazing Jeff Slate and Friends who rocked the place, and the hundreds who turned out for the fun.
Thank you Kiera, Joanne and every member of the library staff for your hospitality – to us and to all, with this amazing new holiday tradition. Not only do you bring us incredible books, speakers, movies and more, you strengthen our community with everything you do …like this fabulous Festival of Trees!
