🚨Odessa Fire contains field blaze 🚨

ODESSA — The Odessa Fire Department responded at 3:57 p.m. Friday, July 19, to a hay field fire at Tebow Road East and Duck Lake Road North on Landon Lobe’s property.

Fire Chief Sebesta said crews were “in good shape” upon arrival and quickly contained the fire. An old combine and many acres of wheat field were lost.

No injuries or structural damage were reported.

FIRE UPDATE — FRIDAY, JULY 11

The Western Pines Fire is now mapped at 5,866.9 acres, according to a new perimeter uploaded this morning to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC).

The Lincoln County Record-Times will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

Editor Olivia Harnack is in the field and will post additional updates as cell service becomes more readily available.

WESTERN PINES FIRE UPDATE – Thursday, July 10, 2025
Level 3 evacuations are now in effect for Green Canyon, Mill Canyon, Harker Canyon, Farr Road, and Angel Spring Road.
Level Road at Sunset Highway is closed.

The Western Pines Fire has expanded to 4,136.5 acres.

Additional updates will be provided as new information becomes available.

Due to ongoing wildfire coverage near Davenport, Lincoln County Record-Times managing editor Olivia Harnack is currently in the field gathering updates. As a result, our Odessa office will likely stay, closed the rest of the day .
