🏡Meet Your Neighbors: Kevin and Hannah Lo: Navy Helicopter Pilots
“It will be an adventure.” That’s how Hannah Lois, Marine Corps helicopter pilot, sums up her family’s next big chapter — packing up their Davidsonville home and heading to Bahrain for two years.
The couple first met in class at the U.S. Naval Academy, where they were both oceanography majors — he graduated in 2015, she in 2016. From there, their lives became a thrilling hopscotch across the country: Quantico, Pensacola, Corpus Christi, Milton, San Diego, Hawaii, Alexandria… each stop another puzzle piece in their dual-military careers.
For the past two years, the Lois family has called Davidsonville home. Here they welcomed their second daughter, Amelia, adding to their lively household alongside two-year-old Ellie and their dog, Karl.
Life at home has been more grounded these days, with Hannah working in cybersecurity at Fort Meade and Kevin serving as a Company Officer at the Naval Academy. Soon, they’ll trade the tree-lined streets of Davidsonville for the bustling, sun-drenched landscape of Bahrain.
The move comes with cultural shifts: no base housing (they’ll rent a home in town), household staff included as part of the rental culture, and temperatures that soar to 130 degrees in the summer.
As they prepare for their move overseas, they’re already dreaming of returning to Maryland someday. “Ellie will be ready to start kindergarten by then,” Hannah says. “Hopefully, we’ll be lucky enough to come back here. We have the greatest neighbors, and we’re so sad to leave them.”
For now, the Lois family is embracing the next chapter with open arms — two pilots, two little girls, and one very spoiled dog, ready to take on the world. Because for Hannah and Kevin, it’s always been about more than just flying. It’s about living full throttle, with open hearts, in service to others.
