"Katehi has come under fierce criticism in recent days for her lucrative work on private boards. While the practice is not uncommon among university leaders, Katehi has been accused of taking it too far. California Assemblyman Kevin McCarty, chairman of the Assembly budget subcommittee on education finance, has called for Katehi’s resignation."
