Ever REGRET bailing on a project? Before my there was the ? I want to say this was a 2003 Z06, and still a 1958…Chevy this time. I forget why, but we called it “Fapache”. The plan was like proportions in a UNIBODY no-nonsense track beast. Why do I regret bailing? Because NOBODY had done it before.

I’ve always loved working with 1” square tubing! I find it visually striking when bent, especially in a 180° hoop. I always had to borrow my buddy Scott Birdsall’s bender, but lost that ability when I moved. So I put together this JD2 / SWAG Off Road air over hydraulic hybrid bender that switches between horizontal and vertical operation depending on how much room you have to work. I finally got to try it out today and it works AWESOME! I’m very impressed, especially considering I probably don’t even have $800 into this setup (not counting the bending dies which are each quite expensive, though I’m looking forward to experiment with some 3D printed dies in the near future…

I am beyond impressed by this little Moto Lita style steering wheel from TOMS OFFROAD . I think it’s going to be the perfect centerpiece for the inspired interior in my 1958 build.
