Alright Internet, I need your HELP! I’m looking for referrals for a competent and fair classic car mechanic in or around Baton Rouge, LA. Bonus points for those familiar with first generation and their idiosyncrasies. I’m not looking for restoration work, but somebody who can perform basic service and maintenance work the way these American classics uniquely require.

This chassis is exceptionally clean! Getting really close to setting the ‘58 cab on for the first time, but I’m moving slow in this heat. Just gotta finish building the exhaust and swap some gears while everything is still easy to get to.

When Louis Herthum first told me about his beloved 1968 Ford , he immediately launched into the story of watching as a teenager with his father in Baton Rouge. He told me he knew that day that he wanted to be a stuntman. It’s worth mentioning how our dreams have a way of evolving as we endeavor in their pursuit.

This project has been one of the largest automotive endeavors that I have ever undertaken, and it has certainly evolved from the humble project it started out as. I have made several videos documenting the build process on this one. This is the finale.

Big thanks to Lou, for letting me take the reins and save this car the way it needed to be saved, and also to Roadster Shop, BluePrint Engines, OPTIMA Batteries, American Racing, and Baer Brakes for making the quality parts that gave this car it’s new lease on life.
