We introduced WHIO-TV 7 Circle of Kindness Community Blood Drive to address the ongoing national need for blood. Little did we know that the catastrophic hurricane Helene will put this event in a completely different light by devastating southern parts of the US and stretching as far as our own community. While its full aftermath is yet to be determined, from our partners at American Red Cross Central & Southern Ohio Region we know that over 1,500 blood drives were canceled as a result of it, elevating the need for blood to be beyond critical. If you are able to donate blood, there are still spots left. You can also stop by at Red Cross Miami Valley at any time between 8 AM and 6 PM tomorrow, October 1st, 2024.
