1. Playing with outside with sidewalk chalk
2. Taking family walks in the evening
3. Going in family field trips around the area
4. Watching shows at the local theater
5. Swinging in the backyard
6. Getting ice cream from our favorite local spots
7. Taking nature hikes
8. And read-aloud book time

One of my favorite parts of homeschooling is days like this 🤍

Last week we spent the day exploring Carillon Historical Park and diving into Dayton’s history. We hadn’t visited in a few years, so it was fun seeing all the updates — especially the Montgomery County Horse Barn from when the Ohio State Fair was held in Dayton.

It ended up being one of those simple, really good family days.

Days like this always remind me why we homeschool — the freedom to learn together in the middle of an ordinary weekday.

I want to be more intentional about creating more learning days outside the house this year.

It feels good to slowly return to this space again.

Lately I’ve been craving slower rhythms, good books, simple days at home, and a more intentional place for our family.

I’m looking forward to sharing more of our homeschool life, family rhythms, favorite resources, and everyday moments here again.

W***y Wonka played by Logan Ramnath, sings while taking his guests on a boat ride inside his factory. On Sunday Road Dahl’s W***y Wonka Jr. was performed at the Historic Sidney Theatre.

Ten years ago I took this picture of Logan. I was in disbelief that he was already 18 months old. Fast forward 10 years and somehow I have an 11 year old who is the lead in a musical that is opening today. (Swipe to see him as W***y Wonka!) Where did the time go?!? I’m super proud of him though and the young man he is becoming.

Had the kids load up in the car in their pjs and drove a few minutes down the road so that we could see and experience the northern lights.
