Haven’t showed my face on here in a bit, and here is why. A few days after this photo was taken, I slipped on ice. Even though I was being cautious and took precautions to avoid the ice- it still got me. I was down!
As a small business you would have thought this would have scared me, and while it did, I didn’t stress as bad as one thought. This did happen during the slower season, so that helped.
However, I was laying in the hospital bed after having my foot reset pulling up clients, mapping out dates of upcoming events and reaching out to my team. A team of collective colleagues that I have been working with for years. I adjust some invoices and spends a personal email to each client in the days to come to not be alarmed if they see anything on socials.
I was in a hospital bed for 3 days due to the severity of the break, and still working. Having a plan in place as a small business is the best thing you could do for yourself. My slow time for getting back end things done soon became the slowdown to heal.
I still showed up to each job I was already contract for, I was prepared with additional help and present for my couples. While this break is not ideal, I made the most of it. The few in my community that reached out often to check on me, cook foods, drive me places and just be there has been uplifting.
